One of the things that makes taking part in the Rallye du Soleil both fun and a challenge is camping along the route.

We’ll be staying at two campsites on the route down to St Tropez, firstly at a lovely site overlooking the beautiful Lac de la Liez and then in the small town of Vizille and the start on the Route Napoleon and the foot of the Alps.

For both campsites, you will need to bring your own bedding and towels for all accommodation, and we would also recommend the following:

  • Tent and ground mat (if you have not upgraded your accommodation)
  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Shower towel
  • Insect repellant
  • Toilet paper/wet wipes
  • Shower shoes i.e flip flops
  • Torch
  • Jumper/hoodie for the evening/morning
If you do forget something, don’t worry, we do carry some spare kit!

On arrival at the campsites we will be there to greet you with a welcome drink or two. If you do get there before us, you might be asked to pay for everyone…so no point rushing to get there!!

After dinner, we’ll get everyone together for a chat about the following day’s route and some safe driving tips.

The following morning will be an early start (we will advise a leaving time the night before). We will have tea and coffee on the go for you, usually from around 6am and we’ll have a selection of fresh goodies for you from the local boulangerie.
